In August 2023, GBS began construction of an expansion at Ehrenberg-Ost in Ilmenau.<\/strong>
Following an initial investment of one million euros in a new company building in 2021, an additional investment of over one million euros is being made in 2023\/2024 to expand the company’s headquarters.<\/p>\n

This investment is essential to meet the growing demand for 3D surface sensors from the smartWLI product family<\/strong>. With this expansion, the production area will more than double, and new, modern workspaces will be created for the development of innovative products for capturing and analyzing nano- and micro-geometries, surface structures, and roughness.<\/p>\n

GBS has been manufacturing high-tech products in the field of 3D surface measurement and analysis for over 25 years.<\/strong>
The smartWLI sensors play a key role in enabling innovative solutions aligned with Industry 4.0<\/strong>. In addition to inline sensors, we also offer profilometers for quality assurance in metrology labs.<\/p>\n

The expansion at Robert-Bosch-Ring 8 in Ilmenau<\/strong> will provide space for production, measurement laboratories, and office facilities. The company site\u2014now the location of this latest investment\u2014was acquired from LEG Th\u00fcringen<\/strong>, which supported GBS during its establishment. We are also working with reliable partners such as Volksbank Th\u00fcringen Mitte eG<\/strong>, Th\u00fcringer Aufbaubank<\/strong>, and stakeholders at the state, regional, and city levels to realize our growth.<\/p>\n

Thanks to strong business performance over the past three years, we have achieved continuous growth. For 2023, we expect an increase in turnover of 15 percent<\/strong> and have also continued to expand our workforce.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
