smartWLI Cylinderinspector –
for measuring cylindrical bores

The smartWLI CylinderInspector3D is a measurement system for roughness measurement inside cylinder bores of engine blocks.
It is available in various custom configurations, and GBS-developed plugins allow the extension of the standard evaluation software MountainsMap for the inspection of honing structures and pores on the cylinder wall.

Application example

As a microscopic optical measurement principle, the Cylinderinspector3D can be configured with interference objectives offering magnifications from 5× to 115×.
Structures with lateral dimensions down to approximately 0.3 µm can be resolved. The upper measurement range is several mm² for individual scans and several cm² for stitched areas.
