Sustainable into the Future: GBS metrology Puts Photovoltaic System into Operation

October 2025 – GBS metrology GmbH is sending a clear signal for sustainability and energy efficiency: a state-of-the-art photovoltaic system has been successfully commissioned on the company’s rooftop at its Ilmenau site.

With the new system, we will generate a large portion of the electrical energy required for building operations ourselves. In particular, the climate control of our high-precision measurement rooms – a key factor for reliable 3D surface measurements – can now be powered largely by our own renewable energy.

This not only contributes to climate protection but also strengthens our independence from external energy sources and underscores our commitment to sustainable business practices in high technology.

The investment in renewable energy is part of our long-term strategy to make research, development, and production environmentally conscious and energy-efficient – paving the way for a sustainable future in precision metrology.
