GBS Invests in the Future and Expands Production Capacity

GBS Expands Production Capacity with Support from the “Thüringen Invest” Program of Thüringer Aufbaubank

GBS mbH, a manufacturer of 3D surface measuring instruments for micro and nano roughness measurement, is expanding its production capacity with the support of the Thüringen Invest funding program provided by the Thüringer Aufbaubank.

As of February 1, 2019, GBS will rent additional production space in a neighboring building (Steinbeis, Werner-von-Siemens-Straße 12). Starting in spring 2019, a production manager will be hired to establish serial production at this location. At the same time, a room in the main building will be converted into a metrology laboratory.

The Thüringen Invest funds are being used to support the establishment of both the serial production line and the new metrology lab. This includes investments in production workstations, manufacturing equipment, final inspection stations, packaging areas, measurement stations, and data processing systems for production control.

These investments are accompanied by the creation of new jobs and help to strengthen the Thuringia location as a hub for 3D surface metrology.
