Cylinder surfaces

In addition to surface measurements, the measurement of microgeometries is, on the one hand, a typical measurement task, but on the other hand, the requirements and tasks are very diverse, so that generalization is only possible to a limited extent. We would be happy to advise you on this. If in doubt, simply use the option of free test measurements.

Don’t measure just anything. Measure what matters.

CYLINDER SURFACE 1

Cylinder surface with a clearly pronounced groove structure, high oil transport volume, evenly pronounced rising and falling grooves and a surface defect (broken grain of the honing tool (?)).

CYLINDER SURFACE 2

Cylinder surface with interrupted groove structure that is not as clearly defined as in Example 1 and thus restricts oil transport.

CYLINDER SURFACE 3

Cylinder surface showing signs of wear. Vertical grooves cause a peak at 90° in the angular distribution. Correspondingly undesirable grooves increase oil consumption without being involved in reducing friction.
