Biomedical research
Surface measurements are often required in biomedical research. In implants, the surface roughness promotes the healing process up to a certain point at which neighboring cells die. Colloid structures can be used as docking points for drug testing. The possible uses of the profilometers are diverse, with the system configuration being adapted to the task must become.
Don’t measure just anything. Measure what matters.

Colloid research deals with structures at the nano and micrometer level that are significantly larger than atoms but significantly smaller than macroscopic objects. Due to their transparency and three-dimensionality, structures can only be assessed to a limited extent with microscopes, so coherence scanning (white light) interferome-ters offer a decisive advantage.
